It turns out that Miko does have a plan.
- Panel 1
Miko is standing in the center of the ogres.
Miko: You are the ogre chieftain, then? Are your ogres fully prepared to fight?
Ogre: yes. we are ready to fight.
- Panel 2
Beat. The ogre chieftain smiles evilly.
- Panel 3
- Panel 4
Ogre: I said, we are ready to—
- Panel 5
Miko slices the ogre chieftain into several wedge-shaped pieces, "slash! slash! slash! slash! slash!"
Miko: I heard you the first time.
- Panel 6
Miko: Durkon! Elf! Scorch the area, centered on me!
- Panel 7
Vaarsuvius: I do not respond to being addressed as, "Elf", nor do I take orders from those intellectually inferior to myself.
Durkon: Ah, stop bein' a stick in tha mud, tha lass has got a good plan goin', just go along wit it.
- Panel 8
Durkon: Thor's Lightning!
Miko Evades by jumping out of the way as Durkon and Vaarsuvius blast the ogres.
- Panel 9
Roy: Wait, so your whole speech about honor was just a bluff?!?
Miko: Not at all. I meant every word. It was merely ALSO a convenient way of gathering the entire tribe into an area small enough to Fireball.
- Panel 10
Miko: You didn't actually think I was stupid enough to allow the enemy to completely surround me without a valid strategic plan in mind?
Roy: Um... no, no, of course not...
Miko: Good. Let's mop up the survivors.
- Panel 11
Roy: So, I've met someone who is everything I thought I wanted, and I find that I really just want to kick her in the head.
Durkon: Love is an Epic-level challenge.
D&D Context Edit
- Miko was able to avoid the spells because of her Monk Evasion class feature and high saving throws from being a Paladin.
- "Epic-level" is anything beyond 20th. The standard Player's Handbook lacks rules for these levels.
- Thor's Lightning is a Cleric spell that is a fictional game feature.
- Fireball is a 3rd-level Wizard spell that explodes and deals damage in a radius.
