Sir Francois was a paladin. Elan was serving as herald to him,[1] and continually annoyed him with his utter incompetence. Once the pair hunted a troll to its lair.[2]
The last straw was when Elan checked them into the Rob-U-While-U-Sleep-Inn, ignored obvious hints from the landlord, Chuck, that it would live up to its name, and even told the innkeep where all their valuables were kept. Sir Francois abandoned Elan by telling him to close his eyes and count to 100, then rode off. Elan's response was ""Awww, not again".[3]
Sir Francois was later briefly seen on Xykon's crystal ball.[4] He was also among the guests in Elan's dream wedding while under effect of a illusion in Windy Canyon[5] and also came back in a flashback scene that may indicate that Haley met him at some point.[6]
