Violet was a human woman who had sworn a Blood Oath of Vengeance to destroy the magic sword that had devoured her father's soul. Unfortunately for her, she did not manage to destroy it during her lifetime and remained in the afterlife as an oathspirit for several decades, hooking up with fellow oathspirit Eugene Greenhilt during this time.
However, shortly after the Battle of Azure City Violet learned that the blade she had sworn to destroy was broken by her great-great-grand daughter, freeing her spirit and allowing her to climb the mountain to join her family and her husband. Before going up the mountain, she broke off her relationship with Eugene, asking him not to look her up if he got in so as to not have to explain him to her husband.
