While the crew argue over command in the wake of Andi's mutiny, the Mechane finds itself on the horns of a dilemma: Mateo must steer the ship to one side or the other of a mountain in its path, but its not clear that the ship can make it through either pass.
- Panel 1
Felix: I can't believe you did that!
Andi: Zip it, Felix! Someone needed to do something.
Felix: What, like mutiny?!?
- Panel 2
Andi: Maybe! I don't know! What are you going to do about it?
Andi: Are you gonna be a big hero and stab me with your sword? Huh??
- Panel 3
Andi: Okay, then. Great.
- Panel 4
Andi: I mean, she was never really captain. She was just a temporary caretaker, and she shouldn't have even been picked for that much.
Andi: She's just a kid!
- Panel 5
Carol: What does that matter? If we're going by age, I should be captain! I'm older than all of you!
Andi: Only because you're a half-elf, Carol. That doesn't count. It's like reverse dog years.
Mateo: Port or starboard, Andi?
- Panel 6
Carol: You're tying her up??
Andi: Do you want her to just flop around on deck and get hurt?
Carol: No, but... this is all wrong!
- Panel 7
Kwesi: OK... OK, this sucks, but what's done is done. We need to focus on getting out of here.
Andi: Thank you! At least someone understands.
Mateo: I kinda need a decision here...
- Panel 8
Andi: When we're safely away from the giants and Roy kills the ones on the deck, we can talk about—
- Panel 9
Mateo: Which way do I go around this mountain?!?
- Panel 10
Andi (off-panel): What? Uh, which way has more room to—
Mateo (off-panel): Andi, if I could tell, I wouldn't be asking!
- Panel 11
Andi: But... I don't know that we can fit through either side!
Mateo: Yes I know that is the nature of the dilemma thank you!
- This is the first time Carol is named, having already appeared in fourteen strips at this point, starting all the way back in #391, published over ten years prior to this strip. She had been known heretofore as "Mechane Crewwoman with Bandana".
