Andi: What if we...OK, what if I temporarily boosted the force of the propellers to increase our lift?

Panel 2

Kwesi: Do you want us to come to a full stop? I'm going to stop us, OK?

Panel 3

Giantess: Beginner geometry holds up the magnet gambler!
Giantes: Sunrise gravy!

Panel 4

Giantess: No!
Giantess: Must clear my head...

Panel 5

Giantess: I must succeed for Lord Thrym!
The giantess tears a hole in the envelope, "SSHHRRIPP!"

Panel 6

Elan: Aww, man! I just repaired that blloon!
Roy: We've stopped moving, so keep your feet on the deck and fix it again.

Panel 7

Roy: I've got an—nnn!—idea to get her attention back on me.

Panel 8

Roy lifts a huge boulder and hurls it at the giantess.

Panel 9

The giantess catches the boulder, "CATCH!"
Giantess: Are you kidding me? Catching boulders is one of our only special abilities.

Panel 10

She hurls it back at Roy, hitting him full on, "FWONK!"

Panel 11

Roy: Well, she threw it back at me instead of at the ship, so technically, that worked.
Elan: Aww, man! I just repaired that fighter!

D&D Context Edit

  • Giants, including Frost Giants, have the special ability to catch rocks and other projectiles that would otherwise hit them as a free action with a successful Reflex save. Their other special abilities are immunity to cold, low light vision, and rock throwing.

Trivia Edit

  • The title plays on both the giantess' ability to catch thrown boulders, as well as the artist catching up on updates to the comic. He had taken more than a month off of the main story between #1070 and #1071 in order to complete How the Paladin Got His Scar, and the two days between this strip and the previous is historically a very quick turnaround for him.
