- Panel 1
Roy runs around shouting, having just been contacted by Nale.
Roy: WAKE UP!
Roy: Everybody! Wake up!
- Panel 2
Elan: What's goin' on?
Elan: Did you need a drink of water?
Roy: I just had a few words with your brother.
- Panel 3
Elan: Nale?!? Here???
Roy: No, no, he was using some sort of magical spell to contact me directly.
- Panel 4
Roy: He managed to get himself out of prison somehow and track down my little sister, Julia.
Roy: He threatened to kill her if I don't hand over Elan!
- Panel 5
Roy: I need to help her! She might be studying wizardry but she's only sixteen.
Roy: She's no match for a killer like Nale!
- Panel 6
Elan: We'll help, Roy. She wouldn't be in trouble if Nale wasn't so mad at us for beating him.
Haley nods vigorously.
Vaarsuvius: I do not wish to be the proverbial pooper of parties, but are we not on a mission upon which the fate of the world depends?
- Panel 7
Roy: I don't think that'll be a problem. Shojo's wizards can still teleport us, and Nale gave me a near-exact location in Cliffport where he's holding her.
Roy: We pop in, kick his ass, rescue Julia and pop out. It should take, like, an hour, tops.
- Panel 8
Vaarsuvius: Very well. One's family must be defended when the need arises. I shall accompany you.
Roy: Thank you.
Belkar: Wait, wait, wait... has anyone stopped to think about this?
- Panel 9
Belkar: I know I'm not normally the voice of reason around here, but come on! This obviously a trap of some sort.
Belkar: We need to know exactly what we are getting into before we leave. There are important tactical issues to consider, after all.
- Panel 10
Roy: Hmm... you're right. Nale is too crafty not to have a plan.
Roy: What sort of tactical info were you thinking of, Belkar?
Belkar: Well, I think there's one question we need definitively answered before we even consider this mission:
- Panel 11
Belkar: Is your teenaged sister, in fact, a hottie?
Belkar: Smoking or otherwise?
- Panel 12
Roy: BELKAR!!
Belkar: What? The Belkster don't have time for the fuglies!
Vaarsuvius: Support for my theory continues at an alarming rate.
Trivia[]
- Vaarsuvius's theory in Panel 12 was first mentioned in #335. Vaarsuvius believes that Belkar lacks a fully functioning brain, and can only hate or lust people.
- In the second panel, Elan references his own difficulty sleeping in #336
- Vaarsuvius's statement in panel 8 may be foreshadowing to the Soul Splice.
